While 88% of voters believe that Congress should pass legislation to prevent corporations and special interests from spending unlimited sums to influence elections, Congress has done nothing to curb the impact of Citizens United in the three federal election cycles since the Supreme Court’s decision. Action to curb the influence of these special interests enjoys wide support across the political spectrum: a majority of Democrats (62%), Independents (64%) and Republicans (52%).
